It was on the 8th of August with 8 dreamers inside our safe dream circle. I booked Playa Norte without any assurance I could gather up 8 people. Why 8, you ask? I just felt a greater synchronicity weaving behind that date, thus eight.

The intention was clear, and I was called to this dreamwork. So I thought, well, I’m doing the work, so this will take place one way or another. But there were no attachments really. It was plain trust. Deep down, I knew this would be the start of a magical, first ever overnight dream retreat in Cebu.
The night before the retreat, I dreamt of a glamorous gathering up in a forest in an elevated wooden hotel-like house, where some dream characters I knew from the waking world, some were strangers. I can still remember it was a full house. There was one particular lady that stood out. She wore a white gown in full ballon-skirt, with big ribbon on her hair. I think there were two of them — twins. The twin was also wearing white, but had a different dress. Then earthquake came. All were instructed to stay safe inside the house, while I watch the mountains cracked, trees fell, new land formation is about to come. No one got hurt.

I was eager to share this dream at the retreat of course. Unbelievably and coincidentally (not that I believe in coincidences!), two of the participants confirmed that those particular twin characters I’ve described were seen within the area! Maybe as spirits or ghosts, who knows. They said it a matter of factly that indeed they felt a lot of presence in the area. Good thing, none were being naughty.

Ooops, I didn’t mean to spook you! There was also an empty space beside the house and fire pit where long thin trees grew freely. I felt a sense of familiarity from that of the dream. Don’t worry, here are better goosebumps-worthy synchronicities: One participant dreamt of me as a fairy before we even met (our first meeting was at the retreat itself). While another was was instructed by her guides to sign up for the retreat and the monetary help is on the way. And finally, to lock in the participants to eight, one signed up the day before the retreat when we met in a meditation class with Dr. Kumar. And how cool to even point out that her Indian name in English translates to “Dream”!
Yes, the connections we made through life and dream conversations and the mind-blowing moments leading up to the event left me in immense gratitude to this life path I’m choosing. This first retreat sealed it.

We danced under the stars and Moon, danced in the bonfire, throwing the written phrases that do not serve us anymore. Let fire consume the nightmares, the night terrors. For that moment, it is written, and so it is won in the last breathing ember, released.

I am blessed to do this work and the support I got from my strong, constant friends who believed in the value I am giving to the community. It is enough to give me strength and valor to continue on with this journey.
Perhaps it is this small, safe, sacred circle that I am most proud of. To have a community that gives significant time for other lives gifted in the dreamscapes — lives that are equally real as the waking. I humbly accept to be a vessel of this cause, in this lifetime.
